Summit Youth Climbing Team Practice

What is the Climbing Team?

· Our climbing team is for climbers ages 8-17 who are looking to grow as climbers and individuals.

· The climbing team is training for climbing competitions overseen by an experienced climbing coach.

· Training will include climbing drills, and specialized workouts.

· The climbing team is for competitive climbers. If you are not interested in competing then check out our Summit Youth programs.

When does the Climbing Team meet?

· Practices are Tuesday, Thursday 4:30-6:30pm.

· Climbers are required to come to both practices each week.

How much does it cost and what is included in the cost?

· $190/month

· Includes team practices, team gear, and a full gym membership with full membership benefits.

· Includes free entry to Summit Everett hosted competitions.

Are there any other costs involved?

· All of the team members must maintain a USAC membership and pay for any competitions they will be attending. For information on USAC membership pricing and benefits visit: http://www.usaclimbing.org/Members/Membership_FAQ.htm

· Further team gear (shirts, sweatshirts, tank tops, and bags) can be ordered at cost.

· Climbing Team members are asked to have their own shoes, harness, and chalk.

What is the commitment to Climbing Team?

· In signing up for climbing team we ask for a commitment of 3 months. This covers the different seasons with the USAC (bouldering- fall; speed/sport- spring)

· Cancellation fee is $150 if 3-month commitment is not fulfilled.

What is the competition schedule like?

· All climbers need to attend at least 2 local competitions and place in the top 13 of their category in at least one to qualify for regionals. It is up to the climber to show up for the competitions they register for.

· Seasons: Fall = Bouldering / Spring = Sport and Speed Climbing

· Order of competition: Local, Regional, Divisional, National, World
